Uric Acid-L (R1-R2) is a liquid reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of uric acid in serum or plasma, by the uricase method after Fossati et al. Uricase converts uric acid to allantoin and hydrogen peroxide, which peroxidase uses with 4-aminoantipyrine and TOOS to form a coloured complex read at 546 nm. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Pour 1 bottle of R2 into the R1 bottle and wait 2 minutes, or mix 4 parts of R1 with 1 part of R2 as needed.
- Pipette 1.0 ml of working reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes; add 0.05 ml of standard and of sample to their tubes.
- Mix and incubate at 37 °C for 10 minutes.
- Read the test and the standard against the reagent blank at 546 nm.
- Uric acid (mg/dl) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 6; multiply by 59.5 for µmol/L.
