Alkaline Phosphatase is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of alkaline phosphatase activity in serum or plasma, by a kinetic method formulated to the recommendation of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry (GSCC). Alkaline phosphatase hydrolyses p-nitrophenyl phosphate to p-nitrophenol, and the rate of increase in absorbance at 405 nm is proportional to its activity. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Dissolve 1 substrate tablet in 1.1 ml of buffer (crush it first to speed this up) and wait 15 minutes.
- Add 0.02 ml of sample to 1.0 ml of buffered substrate and mix.
- Read the absorbance at 405 nm at 30, 60, 90 and 120 seconds, at 37 °C.
- Work out the mean change in absorbance per minute (ΔA/min).
- Alkaline phosphatase (IU/L) = ΔA/min × 2713.
