Cholesterol (CHOD-PAP) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of cholesterol in serum or plasma, by the enzymatic method of Allain and Roeschlau. Cholesterol esterase and cholesterol oxidase release hydrogen peroxide, which with peroxidase forms a coloured complex read at 505 nm in proportion to total cholesterol. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps

Dissolve 1 vial of enzyme-chromogen powder in its diluent (25 ml or 60 ml), mix, and wait 10 minutes.
Pipette 1.0 ml of working reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes; add 0.01 ml of standard and of sample to their tubes.
Mix and incubate for 10 minutes at 37 °C.
Read the test and the standard against the reagent blank at 505 nm.
Cholesterol (mg/dl) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 200.
