Cholinesterase is a reagent for the in vitro quantitative determination of cholinesterase in human serum, by a kinetic propionylthiocholine method modified from Dietz et al. Cholinesterase hydrolyses propionylthiocholine, and the thiocholine released reacts with DTNB to form yellow 5-thio-2-nitrobenzoic acid, measured at 405 nm in proportion to activity. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance4 steps

Reconstitute each vial with 1.1 ml of buffer and mix gently until dissolved, without shaking.
Add 20 µl of sample to 1 ml of working reagent and mix.
Read the absorbance at 405 nm at 15 seconds and again at 45 seconds.
