GGT is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of gamma glutamyl transferase activity in serum or plasma, by the Szasz kinetic method recommended by the Scandinavian Society for Clinical Chemistry and Physiology. GGT converts L-gamma-glutamyl-p-nitroanilide and glycylglycine to p-nitroaniline, and the rate of increase in absorbance at 405 nm is proportional to GGT activity. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Reconstitute 1 GGT tablet with 1.1 ml of buffer, mix gently, and wait 5 minutes.
- Add 0.1 ml of sample to 1.0 ml of working reagent and mix immediately.
- Read the absorbance at 405 nm at exactly 60 seconds, then 3 more times at 30-second intervals.
- Work out the mean change in absorbance per minute (ΔA/min).
- GGT (IU/L) = ΔA/min × 1158.
