Product details.
HDL-Cholesterol (PTA, Mg++/CHOD-PAP) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in serum or plasma. Phosphotungstic acid and magnesium chloride precipitate the other lipoprotein fractions, and the cholesterol left in the clear supernatant is measured enzymatically at 505 nm. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.
The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 04-2023. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Mix 0.2 ml of sample with 0.2 ml of precipitating reagent, centrifuge at 3500 to 4000 rpm for 10 minutes, and separate the clear supernatant straight away.
- Dissolve 1 vial of enzyme-chromogen in the diluent and wait 10 minutes.
- Pipette 1.0 ml of working reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes; add 0.05 ml of standard and of supernatant to their tubes.
- Mix, incubate for 10 minutes at 37 °C, and read against the reagent blank at 505 nm.
- HDL cholesterol (mg/dl) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 50 × 2.
