Product details.

LDH (L to P, kinetic) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of lactate dehydrogenase activity in serum or plasma, based on the procedure of Gay, Bowers and McComb. LDH oxidises lactate to pyruvate while reducing NAD to NADH, and the rise in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to LDH activity. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 04-2023. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
  1. Reconstitute 1 vial of 1 LDH with 1.1 ml or 3 ml of buffer, mix gently, and wait 5 minutes.
  2. Add 0.05 ml of sample to 1.0 ml of working reagent and mix.
  3. Read the absorbance at 340 nm at exactly 1 minute, then 30, 60 and 90 seconds after that.
  4. Work out the mean change in absorbance per minute (ΔA/min).
  5. LDH (IU/L) = ΔA/min × 3376.
