Potassium-L (Single Liquid) is a reagent for the colorimetric determination of potassium in human serum and plasma, with no deproteinisation. Sodium tetraphenylboron in a specially prepared mixture forms a colloidal suspension with potassium, read at 578 nm. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance4 steps

Pipette 1.0 ml of reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes; add 0.025 ml of standard and of sample to their tubes.
Mix and incubate at 30 °C for 5 to 10 minutes.
Read the test and the standard against the reagent blank at 578 nm.
Potassium (mmol/L) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 5.
