Product details.
SGOT-L (R1-R2) is a liquid reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (AST) activity in serum or plasma, by the kinetic procedure recommended by the IFCC. AST forms oxaloacetate from L-aspartate and α-ketoglutarate; malate dehydrogenase reduces it while oxidising NADH, and the fall in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to AST activity. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Pour 1 bottle of R2 into the R1 bottle and wait 2 minutes, or mix 4 parts of R1 with 1 part of R2 as needed.
- Add 0.05 ml of sample to 1.0 ml of working reagent (or to 0.8 ml of R1 and 0.2 ml of R2) and mix.
- After 60 seconds at 37 °C, read the absorbance at 340 nm every 30 seconds for 2 minutes.
- Work out the mean change in absorbance per minute (ΔA/min).
- SGOT (IU/L) = ΔA/min × 3376.
