Chloride (thiocyanate) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of chloride in serum or plasma. Chloride ions displace thiocyanate from mercuric thiocyanate, and the freed thiocyanate forms red-brown ferric thiocyanate, read at 480 nm in proportion to the chloride present. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps

Pipette 1.0 ml of reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes.
Add 0.01 ml of standard to the standard tube and 0.01 ml of sample to the test tube.
Mix and incubate for 5 minutes at room temperature (25 to 30 °C).
Read against the reagent blank at 480 nm.
Chloride (mmol/L) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 100.
