Product details.
Urea-GLDH (DST) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of urea and BUN in serum or plasma, by a UV fixed-time method. Urease releases ammonia from urea, and glutamate dehydrogenase uses it with 2-oxoglutarate to form glutamate while oxidising NADH to NAD; the decrease in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to urea. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Dissolve 1 vial of urea powder in its buffer (25 ml or 60 ml) and wait 15 minutes.
- Add 0.02 ml of standard or sample to 1.0 ml of working reagent and mix immediately.
- Read the absorbance at 340 nm at 20 seconds (AT1) and 80 seconds (AT2), or at 30 and 90 seconds.
- Work out ΔA/min = AT1 − AT2 for the standard and for the test.
- Urea (mg/dl) = ΔA/min of test × 50 ÷ ΔA/min of standard.
