Product details.

Calcium (OCPC) is a reagent kit for the quantitative estimation of calcium (Ca++) in serum. Ortho-cresolphthalein complexone reacts with calcium at pH 10.0 to form a purple complex read at 570 nm, and 8-hydroxyquinoline in the reagent prevents interference from magnesium. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 04-2023. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
  1. Mix equal volumes of 1 Calcium and 2 Calcium to make the day's working reagent.
  2. Pipette 1.0 ml of working reagent into the blank, standard and test tubes; add 0.01 ml of standard and of sample to their tubes.
  3. Mix and incubate for 5 minutes at room temperature (25 to 30 °C).
  4. Read the standard and the sample against the reagent blank at 570 nm.
  5. Calcium (mg/dl) = absorbance of test ÷ absorbance of standard × 10.
