The HIV 1/2 Triline Card (Whole Blood) is a solid-phase immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human whole blood, serum or plasma. Recombinant HIV-1 (gp120 + gp41) and HIV-2 (gp36) antigens sit on separate T1 and T2 lines, so the card tells HIV-1, HIV-2 and dual reactivity apart. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Bring the card, sample and buffer to room temperature, and lay the card flat.
- Add 1 drop of serum or plasma (about 10 µl) or 2 drops of whole blood (about 20 µl) to the sample well; with whole blood, wait about 30 seconds for it to soak in.
- Add 2 drops (60 µl) of assay buffer; add 1 more drop if needed.
- Read at 10 to 15 minutes, never after 20 minutes.
- C only is negative; C and T1 is HIV-1 positive; C and T2 is HIV-2 positive; C, T1 and T2 is positive for both. No C line means the test is invalid.
