The HIV 1/2 Triline Strip is a solid-phase immunochromatographic assay in strip format for the qualitative detection of antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human serum or plasma. Recombinant HIV-1 (gp120 + gp41) and HIV-2 (gp36) antigens sit on separate H1 and H2 lines, so the strip tells HIV-1, HIV-2 and dual reactivity apart. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

Procedure at a glance5 steps

Bring the strip, buffer and sample to room temperature, and lay the strip on a clean, level surface.
Add 1 drop (about 10 µl) of serum or plasma to the sample pad, near the end of the MAX arrow.
Add 4 drops (120 µl) of assay buffer at the start of the sample pad, letting each drop soak in first.
Read at 15 to 20 minutes, not later.
C only is negative; C and H1 is HIV-1 positive; C and H2 is HIV-2 positive; C, H1 and H2 is positive for both. No C line means the test is invalid.
