Product details.
The HBsAg (Hepa Card) is a one-step immunochromatographic sandwich assay for the qualitative detection of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in serum or plasma. A monoclonal antibody gold conjugate and monoclonal solid-phase antibodies bind HBsAg to form a pink-purple test line, with a goat anti-mouse IgG control line. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.
The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 01-2026. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

- Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)
- Sample
- Serum or plasma, tested soon after separation; 3 days at 2 to 8 °C, or frozen at −20 °C beyond that
- Sample volume
- 2 to 3 drops (50 to 75 µl)
- Read at
- 20 minutes; strong positives may show within 5 minutes
- Limitation
- Shows only the presence or absence of HBsAg; if negative with persisting symptoms, repeat on a fresh sample
- Storage
- 2 to 40 °C in the sealed pouch
- Caution
- Handle specimens as infectious; soak used material in 0.5 to 1% sodium hypochlorite for 1 hour

Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Bring the card and the sample to room temperature, and lay the card flat.
- Add 2 to 3 drops of serum or plasma to the sample well, without overflowing.
- Let the reaction run until the lines appear, up to 20 minutes.
- Read at 20 minutes; strong positives may show within 5 minutes.
- C only is negative; C and T is positive for HBsAg, whatever the line intensities; no C line means the test is invalid.
