Product details.
The Chikungunya Antibody Card (IgG/IgM) is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies to chikungunya virus in human serum, plasma or whole blood. Recombinant structural-protein antigens on colloidal gold feed separate G and M test lines. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.
The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 04-2023. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

- Method
- Lateral flow immunochromatography, colloidal gold
- Detects
- IgG (line G) and IgM (line M) antibodies to chikungunya virus
- Sample
- Whole blood (EDTA, citrate or heparin), serum or plasma; 5 days at 2 to 8 °C, frozen at −20 °C beyond that; not grossly lipemic, hemolysed or turbid
- Sample volume
- 1 drop (about 25 µl)
- Buffer
- 2 drops (about 70 to 100 µl)
- Read at
- 15 minutes; positives can show from 5 minutes; not after 15 minutes
- Limitation
- Qualitative only, and band intensity does not track titre; very high heterophile antibody or rheumatoid factor titres may affect results
- Storage
- 2 to 40 °C in the sealed pouch
- Stock codes
- RDT-CHI.115, RDT-CHI.115U
- Made in
- Vadodara, Gujarat, India
Procedure at a glance5 steps
- Bring the specimen and test components to room temperature, and mix thawed specimens well.
- Open the pouch at the notch, lay the device on a clean, flat surface, and label it.
- Add 1 drop (about 25 µl) of specimen to the sample well without air bubbles, then 2 drops (about 70 to 100 µl) of buffer straight away.
- Read at 15 minutes; positives can show within 5 minutes.
- C only is negative; C and M is IgM positive; C and G is IgG positive; C, M and G is positive for both; no C line means the test is invalid.
