Product details.

The HAV Card is a chromatographic immunoassay for the direct qualitative detection of IgM antibodies to hepatitis A virus in human serum or plasma. Anti-human IgM on the test line captures the sample's IgM, and HAV recombinant antigens on colloidal gold form a pink band when antibodies to HAV are present. Manufactured at Reckon’s Vadodara facility under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and released against reference standards before dispatch.

The specifications and steps on this page are from the datasheet, last updated 01-2023. The datasheet governs: read it before use, or ask us.

Method
Chromatographic immunoassay (CIA), IgM capture
Detects
IgM antibodies to hepatitis A virus
Sample
Serum or plasma (EDTA, citrate or heparin); 2 weeks at 2 to 8 °C or 1 year at −20 °C; not icteric, lipemic, hemolysed, heat-treated or contaminated
Sample volume
5 µl, diluted 1:50 in 250 µl of assay buffer; 2 to 3 drops (50 to 80 µl) of the mixture go on the card
Read at
20 minutes
Limitation
A negative result does not rule out HAV infection: antibodies may be absent or too low early on
Storage
